A Quick Stretch to Success

The ADS Groups Studio 120 and U-Branded Productions is at it again, but this time targeting different areas of strength with Pilates, a popular workout that seeks to develop controlled movement from a strong core accomplished by a range of devices used to guide and train the body. Our client Jodi Sussner, Director of Personal Training and Programming for Snap Fitness around the Twin Cities area, came to The ADS Group for the production, editing, replication, and streaming of her Pilates fitness video. Studio 120 got to work immediately, searching for the perfect venue that would be a suitable fit for Jodi’s video. They were on a roll when they came across Profile Event Center, located in Minneapolis off of University Avenue. This location created a relaxing and therapeutic environment in the filming of Jodi’s Pilates video due to the flowing white fabric backdrop and the adjustable mood lighting. Action! Jodi demonstrated several types of body conditioning methods that helps to build flexibility, muscle strength, and endurance in the legs, abdominals, arms, hips, and back. The workout does not just happen on screen, it happens off screen as well. The level of movement that takes place while filming requires a variation of camera equipment. In Jodi’s shoot, Studio 120 and U-Branded used the new Black Magic Hyper Deck Recorder; the 4:2:2 color sampling recorded in Pro Res, which looked fantastic! They also used a Libec Jib and Libec Dolly with the track rail system to add camera motion to each exercise move. That’s a wrap! Everybody has a Story

The Definition of Music: Noun 1.  The are or science of combining vocal or instrumental sounds (or both) to produce beauty of form, harmony, and expression of emotion. 2.  The vocal or instrumental sound produced in this way/ Music is an interest that is shared amongst cultures all over the world. Music touches our hearts, emotions, beliefs, and feelings in so many ways. We use music to escape from our problems, express ourselves, to become inspired, to celebrate and to come together. In fact, music is found to have such a strong effect on healing our mind, body, and soul that Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s hospital has created a music therapy program for its patients. Music therapist Jenny Plume decided to make a CD with the patients at Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s hospital. The CD was called “Everybody has a Story” and the music was written and inspired by the patients. Each song demonstrates the patient’s strength, personality, and creativity. Many great Nashville artists got wind of this vehicle used for healing and generously volunteered their talents by preforming the music written by the children. Some of the artist include but are not limited to; Phil Vassar, Alison Krauss, Melinda Doolittle, Amy Grant, and Faith Hill. Booking it to BEA

Nothing is as simple and gratifying as purchasing a new book. The cover of a new book is always smooth and shiny; the pages lay flat and crisp. The chemical makeup of a book releases a mild odor of paper, ink, and glue as the pages flip from one to the next. The rewarding action of turning the page reveals a new sequence of words drawing its reader closer to the climax. Once the end is reached, the book can be neatly displayed on a bookshelf and referenced in future discussions. Times have changed in the book industry over the last decade due to advancements in technology. Authors and readers are no longer restricted to bookstores and libraries, instead they can choose from multiple facets of electronic devices as well as a variety of different media outlets. Even though the physical element of turning the page may be gratifying and familiar, the convenience of simply clicking a button for instant access to unlimited resources online may turn reading a bound book into an old habit. Macklemore & Ryan Lewis Rock the Red Carpet

2013 MTV Movie Awards were held on Sunday, April 14th of last week. A lot of notable stars made their way down the red carpet at the award ceremony, but one up and coming duo from Seattle made sure their presence didn’t go unnoticed. Macklemore and Ryan Lewis performers of the popular song, “Thrift Shop” walked the red carpet. Macklemore may not have won the best dressed award, wearing a bright royal blue satin cape with gold tassels and a matching suit but he certainly stuck out in the crowd! Later on in the evening the Seattle duo were introduced to the stage for some fist pumping action by Snoop Lion and Ke$ha to perform their new single “Can’t Hold Us.” Macklemore covered all areas of the stage with his animated dance moves and his ability to climb to upper levels of the stage ending in the crowd. Are you fit for Studio 120?

The ADS Group and Studio 120 offers a wide variety of products and services delivered to a diverse clientele. We specialize in CD and DVD replication and packaging but continue to evolve with technology. Currently we have been working hard to customize a plan in order to meet the needs of our fitness clients who generally come to us for CDs and DVDs of their content. We have learned from working with them over the years, the many steps that go into the creation of fitness videos. First it goes into production, then editing, authoring, and lastly replication. Studio 120 Shapes Up

On April 16, 2013, The ADS Group’s Studio 120 and U-Branded productions went full speed ahead in the creation of 8 fitness trailers. These fitness trailers were filmed at Aria, an old historical theatre located in downtown Minneapolis. The space is generally used for corporate special events, weddings, conferences, social gatherings, and in this case fitness videos. Aria couldn’t have been a more perfect location to shoot, it gave these fitness films another dimension due to its large floor plan, high ceilings, original brick walls, cement floors, and iron cast doors. The cameras rolled as each individual fitness talent displayed unique routines targeting a different area of cardio and strength. Studio 120’s production crew was able to get clear shots of each fitness trainer’s fast pace movements and animated facial expressions with the use of high-tech camera equipment. Two camera units were used in the course of the shoot, camera Unit A which is a 3 broadcast camera that filmed simultaneously throughout the shoot and camera Unit B, an AF100 film styled camera that functions using prime lenses. The full length fitness video production date is yet to be determined, but for now that is a wrap!
