Cities 97 Sampler Volume 27

It is that time of year again for the Cities 97 Sampler Volume 27 to hit local Target stores on Tuesday, November 17th. If you don’t already know, Cities 97 is a Modern adult contemporary radio station broadcasted across the Twin Cities and neighboring Wisconsin area. The annual Cities 97 Sampler release it a local treat, which is sought after by loyal listeners in the area. The sampler is a compilation of music that has been played on the station throughout the year. In addition to the Cities 97 Sampler being a great collector’s item and an enjoyable playlist, 100% of Cities 97 Sampler proceeds will be donated to Minnesota charities. This year’s Sampler will generate approximately $660,000, bringing the combined annual total to $12 million. It get even better, one dollar from every Sampler purchased will go to Children’s Hospitals and Clinics of Minnesota!   Every year, The ADS Group, a multi-media distribution facility, contributes to the Cities 97 Sampler. We replicate 30,000 copies of the CD to be donated to the cause. Not only is it an honor to be a part of something that has such a positive impact on the community, it is also great to see that consumers still value physical media. With streaming and downloads readily available, it is easy to lose sight of holding on to something tangible. The Cities Sampler brings value to physical media in a way that a download may not. It brings music sales back to its common root. The subsequent artists donated their Studio C performances to make the Cities 97 Sampler Volume 27 possible: 01 |...

Don’t DIS my ABILITY

“If you have to judge people, judge them based on what they can do, not on what they cannot.  Judge them based on who they are, not who they aren’t.  Otherwise, you’re judging based on your own shortcomings.” — Anonymous     Studio 120 is currently working on a charitable marketing video to help raise awareness for the Ms. Wheelchair Minnesota Organization. People with disabilities represent approximately 20% of Minnesota’s population. As we age, that number will increase. People with disabilities are the strongest influencers in educating our community about what it is like to have a disability and the daily challenges an abled body person does not encounter or even think about. Ms. Wheelchair Minnesota is not a contest to select the most attractive individual. It is instead a competition based on advocacy, achievement, communication and presentation to select the most accomplished and articulate spokeswoman for persons with disabilities. Ms. Wheelchair Minnesota participants have a platform that they advocate for some of these platforms may consist of access to education and health care; employment opportunity; economic power; and political participation. Others simply want to inspire, motivate, and share their stories.   This non-profit organization originated in 2011, crowning Jenni Taylor as the first Ms. Wheelchair Minnesota. Jenni then went to nationals and was awarded Ms. Congeniality. She currently works on The Ms. Wheelchair Minnesota Board of Directors and next year will be the assistant coordinator of the event.   Studio 120 attended this year’s Ms. Wheelchair Minnesota pageant interviewing the participants and capturing the crowning of Kelsey Peterson the selected winner of Ms. Wheelchair Minnesota 2014. Starting on a rooftop located in downtown Minneapolis, Studio 120 will capture the beautiful sunrise. Once the sun is high in the sky and the last cup of coffee is consumed, they will pack up and head out to an interview with the head of the light rail transit system to convey the importance of affordable transportation. Throughout the day, Studio 120 will also place emphasis on housing in the Twin Cities by collecting locals viewpoints on the cost of living in the metro area, and the pros and cons about living in Minneapolis. Studio 120 will finish the day with a look at the Twins Stadium while conversing with a few fans, get an inside look at the cities golf courses and last but not least, the local theatres. American Red Cross

The members of the American Red Cross gathered together today at The ADS Group’s Studio 120 to shoot a video as an effort to advocate the importance of the organization. Also in attendance was Dan Mannon, to share his inspirational and heroic story.   17-year-old Dan Mannon, went into cardiac arrest during a snowboarding trip on December, 28 at Afton Alps. Shane Linehan a former Washington County sheriff’s deputy jumped to his assistance. If it wasn’t for Linehan’s quick thinking, and training in CPR, Dan Mannon may not have been here today to tell his story.   “I’m very grateful for Shane, because if it wasn’t for him I wouldn’t be here right now. And thankful for Joe for having the AED, because that really saved me,” Mannon said. Mannon, has recently undergone CPR training himself for you never know when one basic training course can turn into a lifesaving act. If you would like to contribute an act of kindness to the American Red Cross, please visit...
